Jahrome Hughes claims July Player of the Month

The Rugby League Players Association is pleased to announce Melbourne Storm halfback Jahrome Hughes has been voted by NRL players as their Player of the Month for July.

By winning the July award, Jahrome claims his second RLPA Player of the Month award for the year after winning the month of April.

The 2020 Premiership winner was a leading force for the Melbourne Storm as they continued their dominant season with three wins from three games. Jahrome, as their playmaker and lynchpin, once again played a key role in that continued success in 2024.

Jahrome was voted Player of the Month ahead of fellow nominees Matt Burton, James Tedesco and Tom Trbojevic.

Jamie Buhrer Praises Jahrome Hughes

“On behalf of the Rugby League Players Association I would like to congratulate Jahrome on winning the Player of the Month for July, as voted by NRL players,” said Jamie Buhrer, the RLPA’s General Manager of Player and Football Operations.

“Jahrome has been crucial to Melbourne’s great season so far in 2024. He has a huge influence on every single game, whether it be with ball in hand, running or kicking. This recognition goes to show his performances are appreciated by his teammates and opponents alike.

“As this is Jahrome’s second Player of the Month award for the 2024 season we’d like to congratulate him on joining Angus Crichton as being the only two players to win the player-voted award twice.”
