Lone Crow Coffee fuels RLPA as official supporter
The Rugby League Players Association (RLPA) is pleased to announce a new partnership with Lone Crow Coffee, an Indigenous-owned coffee business founded by past player Reimis Smith.
As an official supporter of the RLPA, Lone Crow Coffee will supply the organisation’s coffee needs, keeping the team fuelled as they continue their work advancing and protecting the rights and interests of elite rugby league players.
The partnership will also see Lone Crow Coffee become a sleeve sponsor of the RLPA’s team, ‘The Fossils’, which will lace up again for the 2027 Nines Premier League (9PL), held on the Gold Coast in January.
Founded by former Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs and Melbourne Storm player Reimis Smith, Lone Crow Coffee is a tribute to the land Reimis calls home, the people who inhabit it, and the stories that connect them all.
A proud Bundjalung and Wiradjuri man, Smith established Lone Crow Coffee with a vision of bringing people together through coffee, respect for nature, and a commitment to sustainability.
Jamie Buhrer, the RLPA’s General Manager of Past Players and Transition, welcomed Lone Crow Coffee as a supporter of the RLPA.
“We’re delighted to welcome Reimis and Lone Crow Coffee into the RLPA family and to support a business founded by a past player,” said Jamie.
“Reimis had an excellent elite rugby league career, and he has taken that same commitment and determination into his life away from rugby league by building a successful business that is about more than just coffee.
“The RLPA is an organisation that supports players long after they step away from their rugby league careers, and we are looking forward to working in partnership with Reimis.
“Our Nines Premier League team ‘The Fossils’ is made up entirely of former players, and to now wear the business of a fellow former player on our sleeve is a proud moment.”
Reimis Smith on the collaboration between Lone Crow Coffee and the RLPA:
“I’m stoked and grateful to be partnering with the RLPA. They have been there for players long after the final whistle, and I’m proud to now be backing the organisation that backed me.”
“Having Lone Crow on the sleeve of ‘The Fossils’ is pretty special. It’s a team full of former NRL players, so it feels like a full-circle moment. Bring on the Nines Premier League in January.”
“For me, Lone Crow is about bringing people together, respecting Country and telling our story through coffee. The rugby league community is a big part of that story, and I’m excited for what we can build together.”
