Sydney Roosters second rower Angus Crichton has won the Rugby League Players Association’s Player of the Month award for May, as voted by NRL players.
Angus was voted May’s Player of the Month ahead of fellow nominees Dylan Edwards, Cameron McInnes, Sam Walker. He also becomes the first forward to win the RLPA’s Player of the Month award.
The Roosters Premiership winner was central to his side’s incredible form in May, which included the eligible rounds of nine to twelve, as the Roosters reignited their campaign as competition heavyweights. Angus began the month of May in his side’s dominant performance over the Brisbane Broncos at Suncorp Stadium, a contest that saw him cross the line for two tries and set up another.
Angus finished the month of May with a try in the Roosters’ comprehensive win over the Canberra Raiders, where the edge man scored another try. The RLPA Delegate was rewarded for his form in 2024 with a recall to the New South Wales Blues team for State of Origin I in Sydney.
The RLPA’s Player of the Month is presented by Levels Network hosted by Justin Horo and Willie Mason, with the nominees and winners announced on their podcast each month.
