About the Retirement Account

The purpose of the Retirement Account is to invest contributions, which have been made in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement (CBA), for the benefit of eligible of players participating in the NRL competition and to pay a benefit to such players following their retirement from playing professional rugby league.
The benefit is designed to support the player’s transition from his playing career to his post-playing career.

About the Past Player Medical Support Fund

The Past Player Medical Support Fund will provide discretionary financial assistance to eligible past Players for medical costs relating to medical treatment for injuries suffered during their NRL or NRLW playing careers, in accordance with the Past Player Medical Support Fund Rules.

The Fund was negotiated in the 2023 CBA and will be established in 2024.

The Past Player Medical Support Fund will be managed by the RLPA and will fall within the scope of the Past Player and Transition Program.

About the General Player Hardship Fund

The purpose of the General Player Hardship Fund is to provide discretionary, benevolent support and assistance to past Players who fall on hard times. The Fund was negotiated in the 2023 CBA and will be established in 2024.

The General Player Hardship Fund is a partnership with the NRL and will be managed by the RLPA and will fall within the scope of the Past Player and Transition Program.
