Sia Soliola 17/01/2020 Sia joined the RLPA Board of Directors in December 2019 after progressing through the leadership pathway structure of the Player Advisory Group and Delegate structure. The former New Zealand International has amassed more than 300 first grade games across the NRL and Super League – having had stints for the Sydney Roosters, St Helens and his current Club – the Canberra Raiders. Sia is involved with the Early Morning Centre – an organisation in Canberra that provides meals for the homeless – and is an ambassador for Angelman Syndrome. In 2019, Sia was recognised for his outstanding efforts in the community receiving the prestigious Ken Stephen Medal. On his appointment as an RLPA Director, Sia stated: “I’ve been in the game for quite some time now and I think that I can give back to the collective by providing guidance and advice to the RLPA.” “Joining the Board will be good for my professional development and hopefully I can also help the RLPA continue to grow in coming years. “It’s important that we develop a respectful partnership between the RLPA and the NRL, as I believe this will help Rugby League in the future.” Sia has also engaged in career development opportunities, studying a Diploma in Business and Certificate IV in Youth Work.
