The board and members of the Rugby League Players Association send their heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and team mates of James Ackerman who passed away today.
“We are deeply saddened to learn of James’ death,” said RLPA Chief Executive David Garnsey. “James was admired as a talented, tough competitor who loved to play rugby league and we have lost not just a fine footballer but also a good man.
“To his wife Saraa and their two young children, his parents Michael and Sonya and his brothers Andrew and Thomas we offer our sympathy and support on behalf of the rugby league playing group.
“Our thoughts are also with his friends and teammates as they grieve his loss.”
The 25 year old was seriously injured whilst playing for the Sunshine Coast Falcons against the Norths Devils at Bishop Park on Saturday.
