The Rugby League Players’ Association extends its deepest condolences to the friends and family of Darryl Van de Velde.
A close friend of the RLPA, Darryl was an incredible source of passion and determination for the game as a player, coach and administrator – particularly in his home state of Queensland.
His dedication and contribution to rugby league took him to the United Kingdom. However, his heart always stayed and belonged in Queensland where he later served as a director on the board of Queensland Rugby League for over 10 years, and was a Life Member and former board member of Men of League (now Family of League).
Darryl selflessly devoted so much to rugby league and we thank him for his incredible contribution. Rest in peace.
