Before Joel Thompson departs Australia to pursue an opportunity in the Super League, the Rugby League Players’ Association would like to acknowledge his contribution to the Association and the game.
Officially elected at the 2018 AGM by his peers, Joel has now concluded his duties as an RLPA Director.
Throughout his 234-game NRL career, Joel has shown tremendous dedication to his fellow players and in recent years has been a valuable addition to the RLPA Board.
As many would already know, Joel’s contribution to the game has not been limited to his work with the RLPA.
Joel’s commitment to community engagement was recognised in 2016 as recipient of the prestigious Ken Stephen Medal, and he has been a strong advocate for mental health – founding The Mindset Project.
We wish Joel the very best with St Helens – and on behalf of the RLPA and our members, thank you!
