The Rugby League Players Association is pleased to announce New Zealand Warriors halfback Luke Metcalf has won the Player of the Month award for May, as voted by NRL players.
Metcalf was voted May’s Player of the Month ahead of fellow nominees James Tedesco and Keaon Koloamatangi after a month in which he established himself as one of the in-form halves of the competition this year.
Not only is this his first win, but it was also Luke’s first nomination for Player of the Month and joins Shaun Johnson and Jahrome Hughes as the only halfbacks to win the RLPA’s Player of the Month award.
Metcalf has been a key contributor to the Warriors’ strong 2025 campaign, with the side currently sitting third on the NRL ladder, after winning four of their five games in May. Metcalf’s try-scoring and playmaking abilities were on full display throughout May, notching up four tries, three try assists, and a match-winning field goal against the Dragons in Round 10.
The Player of the Month award is presented by Levels Network, with the winners and nominees announced by Justin Horo and Willie Mason on their podcast each month.
