Join our team: Media and Communications Manager
The Rugby League Players’ Association (RLPA) is currently recruiting for an experienced Media and
Communications Manager to join its team.
The Media and Communications Manager will be responsible for developing and leading the media and
communications strategy of the RLPA.
Working directly with the Chief Executive Officer and the Executive team, the individual will focus on elevating
the standing of the Association and its members through effective communication, stakeholder engagement,
media management and ensuring the continued growth of the RLPA’s brand.
Part of the role will include executing digital media strategies that effectively ‘tell the story’ of rugby league
players and their role within the industry and the wider community.
The successful applicant will possess strong management and advocacy skills, have a proven track record of
outstanding written and oral communication, and excellent people skills.
The successful applicant will have the ability to work autonomously, have strong stakeholder engagement
skills, and effectively prioritise the delivery of multiple projects and deadlines.
This role also requires the ability to always maintain the highest levels of confidentiality and discretion.
The Media and Communications Manager will identify opportunities to promote rugby league players and
their achievements – both on and off the field – across various media channels and outlets.
Expert advice and recommendations in response to the various matters that impact rugby league players and
their employment environment will also be required.
Therefore, considerable experience in media and communications will be crucial to this role, with an
understanding of the rugby league environment also favourable.
The ability to adapt communications styles across a wide range of stakeholders will be critical as you will work
with RLPA members (male and female players), player leaders and delegates, the RLPA CEO, the RLPA
executive and staff, media; player agents, NRL management and Club management.

advancing their interests.
