Jason Taumalolo joins exclusive 300 Club
The Rugby League Players Association congratulates Jason Taumalolo, who became the 56th player to play 300 games in premiership history, adding another remarkable chapter to one of the modern era’s most influential careers.
It also marked another historic milestone for the 32-year-old, who became the first player to play 300 first grade games for the Cowboys.
From the moment he burst onto the NRL scene as a 17-year-old schoolboy in 2010, Jason established himself as one of the game’s most destructive players ever. His extraordinary power, athleticism, relentless leg drive and remarkable endurance proved crucial to the Cowboys’ historic 2015 premiership. Jason was also the RLPA’s Players’ Champion and Dally M Medial winner in 2016.
Having represented both New Zealand and Tonga on the international stage, Jason has also become one of the most instrumental figures in the growth of rugby league, proudly representing his Tongan heritage and helping elevate the international game.
RLPA CEO Clint Newton congratulated Jason on reaching one of rugby league’s most prestigious milestones.
“Congratulations, Jason, on reaching 300 NRL games. What an incredible achievement.
In an era where our game has become faster and more demanding than ever, you’ve continued to evolve while consistently performing at the highest level throughout your career.
“You now join one of rugby league’s most exclusive clubs, with very few players achieving what you have. It has been an absolute privilege to watch you do it your way, with integrity, resilience and an unwavering passion for the game.
“This milestone belongs not only to you, but also to your family, who have supported you every step of the journey. I hope you all take the time to enjoy this moment and celebrate everything you’ve achieved. Congratulations once again.”
Felise Kaufusi, General President of the RLPA and Jason’s teammate forTonga, praised his impact on the game and the example he has set for future generations.
“Congratulations on reaching 300 NRL games, Jason. To play 300 games for one club is an incredible achievement and a testament to your loyalty, consistency and commitment over so many years.
“You’ve been an inspiration to so many throughout your career, and I’m proud of the example you’ve set for the next generation of Tongan and Pasifika boys and girls chasing their dreams.
“Congratulations again on a truly special milestone.”
