Injury rules Thompson out of All-Stars clash

Ray Thompson (North Queensland Cowboys) has been forced to withdraw from the Indigenous squad ahead of tomorrow night’s Harvey Norman Rugby League All Stars at Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium.

Thompson injured his ankle at today’s training session and Will Smith (Penrith Panthers) has been called in as a replacement.

Craig Garvey will start at hooker in place of Thompson. Smith will join the Indigenous All Stars in camp this evening.

The Indigenous All Stars squad is now as follows:

  11. Joel Thompson – St George Illawarra Dragons
  12. Sam Thaiday – Brisbane Broncos
  13. Greg Bird – Gold Coast Titans
  14. Tyrone Peachey – Penrith Panthers
  15. Jack Wighton – Canberra Raiders
  16. Wade Graham – Cronulla Sutherland Sharks
  17. Jamie Soward – Penrith Panthers
