Statement – Bronson Xerri

The Rugby League Players’ Association (RLPA) can confirm that Cronulla Sharks player Bronson Xerri has received a provisional suspension notice under the NRL’s Anti-Doping Policy.

The provisional suspension is a result of an Adverse Analytical Finding in an A sample test conducted by the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority (ASADA) on 25 November 2019.

The RLPA is liaising with Bronson and his management regarding representation and support.

The provisional suspension is not an admission of guilt or wrongdoing. Bronson will have the opportunity to have his B-sample analysed.

ASADA processes are strictly confidential under the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority Act. The RLPA will not provide further comment on the matter at this time.

The RLPA will continue to offer support to Bronson throughout the process.
