QCCC Investigation – RLPA Statement

The Queensland Crime and Corruption Commission has served on five Gold Coast Titans Players notices to appear in court to answer criminal charges.

The Players implicated are entitled to the presumption of innocence, which relates not only to the charges they are currently facing but also to any course of action their Club might consider under the terms of their respective Playing Contracts.

Any prejudgment or any disciplinary action could prejudice their cases and might undermine the court process.  For that reason, the RLPA will not be making any further comment about matters before the court.

The RLPA does not condone the use of illicit drugs but we recognise it as an issue that impacts all levels of society.

While we all want the best possible image for the Game, in these circumstances, our primary concern is always the health and welfare of Players and we will continue to provide confidential welfare support and advice to any of our members who need our help.
