Selwyn Cobbo wins Player of the Month for June

The Rugby League Players Association is pleased to announce Selwyn Cobbo as the Player of the Month for June, as voted by NRL players.

This is Selwyn’s first Player of the Month win from his first nomination, and was voted ahead of fellow nominees Kodi Nikorima and Sam Walker.

The Dolphins winger was fantastic for both club and state, the Queensland Maroons, throughout June. Selwyn is the first Queensland Maroons player since Kalyn Ponga in August 2023 to be voted the RLPA’s Player of the Month.

Selwyn is the second Dolphins player to win the award, joining teammate Isaiya Katoa in winning the player-voted honour.

Throughout his three games for club and state in June, Selwyn excelled on the wing crossing the try line seven times, breaking the line five times, and running an astonishing average of 232 run metres per game.

June was an incredible month for Selwyn, and signals his return to the very top of the game following his move to the Dolphins from the Brisbane Broncos.

The Player of the Month award is announced on Levels Network each month, the top-ranking rugby league podcast hosted by Justin Horo and Willie Mason.
