Latrell’s massive month earns Player of the Month honour

The Rugby League Players Association is pleased to announce Latrell Mitchell has been named Player of the Month for March, as voted by NRL players.

After a dominant month, the South Sydney Rabbitohs star secured his first RLPA Player of the Month award from his first nomination, voted ahead of fellow nominees James Tedesco and Adam Doueihi. Mitchell is the first Rabbitoh’s player to win the RLPA’s Player of the Month since Cody Walker in May 2023.

Mitchell’s nomination and win follow a series of decisive performances in April, highlighted by his game-breaking ability, impact on the scoreboard, and dynamic power and skill that consistently shifted momentum in his team’s favour.

Instrumental across South Sydney’s four games in April, Mitchell finished the month with seven tries contributing to him leading the competition in points scored (102), two try assists, and averaged 135 run metres per game playing centre.

Against the St George Illawarra Dragons in Round 7, Mitchell delivered one of the standout individual performances of the season when he crossed for four tries in an unstoppable display on the edge.

Mitchell’s influence was also on full display in the Rabbitohs’ ANZAC Day clash in Melbourne, where he was awarded the Spirit of the Anzac Medal for best on ground. Mitchell recorded three linebreak assists, two try assists, 164 run metres, and four tackle breaks.

The Player of the Month award is announced on Levels Network each month, the top-ranking rugby league podcast hosted by Justin Horo and Willie Mason.
