Full house for Grand Final
The 2016 NRL Telstra Premiership Grand Final Sydney is officially sold out, with more than 83,000 rugby league fans expected to descend on ANZ Stadium this Sunday.
All tickets to the NRL Telstra Premiership Grand Final include return travel on Sydney Trains and Major Event Buses, with fans encouraged to take public transport, arrive early and enjoy the pre-game festivities.
ANZ Stadium CEO Daryl Kerry said the Sydney Olympic Park precinct would be alive with NRL fan activities and pre-game entertainment.
Pre-game activities will kick off outside ANZ Stadium from 11:00am with gates open at 1:15pm.
“Sunday promises to be one of the great NRL Telstra Premiership Grand Final days and the Bureau is forecasting a beautiful spring day in Sydney,” Mr Kerry said.
“The best advice is to give yourself plenty of time and arrive early in the Sydney Olympic Park precinct so that you can relax with family and friends and make the most of a special day.”
Direct train services from Central to Olympic Park will run every seven minutes from noon, stopping at Redfern and Strathfield.
To meet the demands of Sharks fans, additional train services will run from Cronulla/Waterfall to Redfern/Central every 10 minutes.
Fans coming from the south should change at Redfern or Central for the direct trains to Olympic Park.
For fans travelling from the west, trains will run from Blacktown and Parramatta to Olympic Park every eight minutes. Sydney Olympic Park Major Event Buses begin running from 11:40am, with Major Event Bus Route Seven running from Cronulla to Sydney Olympic Park.
Sharks fans are encouraged to travel by train where possible, as Major Event Buses will be in high demand and are expected to reach capacity quickly.
Fans are reminded to keep their tickets for the return journey, as customers must have a valid ticket when travelling on public transport.
Fans are also reminded that Daylight Saving begins in NSW on Sunday, when clocks go forward one hour at 2:00am.
NRL Telstra Premiership Grand Final celebrations will begin in the Sydney Olympic Park precinct outside ANZ Stadium at 11:00am, with an NRL Fan Zone offering merchandise, family-friendly activities and live entertainment. Restaurants, cafes and bars will open for extended hours pre and post-game.
Fans are encouraged to be in their seats inside ANZ Stadium before 6:30pm to see the electrifying pre-game entertainment headlined by international megastar Keith Urban, who will be joined by multiple Grammy Award-winner Richie Sambora and Australia’s own guitar goddess Orianthi.
Fans are reminded to be aware of ticket scalping and take all necessary precautions to avoid being caught out and missing the Grand Final.
The NRL does not condone ticket scalping and fans should only purchase and receive tickets via the NRL’s authorised ticket outlet, Ticketek.
If fans are in any doubt about their tickets, they should contact Ticketek.
